Lily Allen pops out

Along with being the new face of Chanel, Lily Allen has decided to launch her own line of jewellery. The line consists of necklaces, rings, and bracelets adorned with panda's and poodle's. Seriously! The entire line just consists of panda's and poodles!!!!

But if you thought her collection was the biggest joke of the night, think again. Like numerous times before, Allen did an injustice to her Audrey Hepburn inspired outfit when her tit popped out of her shirt (see left photo). It's not like Lily Allen cared. After it happened she popped her boob back in place and said "I love jewellery, it can change a whole outfit."

Maybe this line is Lily's genious way of people forgetting about her many boob flashes. People will be so put off my a freaking poodle on her chest that they won't even notice if a nipple pops out here and there.

FORNARINA is FOR NO ONE.

I really had no idea what Fornarina was, except for that trippy Gem and the Holograms commercial Lindsay Lohan did for the clothing company. It really did show off her range as an actress quite nicely!

Lilo recetly tweeted a picture of herself (see above) at the recent Fornarina Fall/Winter '09 ad campaign photoshot. She's very subtle isn't she? I was shocked to hear that they weren't going out of business after one season. I mean, the clothes are hideous (see below)!
Their own paid spokersperson hasn't even been seen out in public with their clothes. So if you can't pay someone to wear your designs, how do the big wigs at Fornarina expect people to actually use their own money to purchase these monstrosities.

I guess Lilo buys Fornarina some publicity, but I still doubt anyone will be lining up for their new collection.

PS. All the photoshop doesn't make Lohan look all cracked out.

Here are some pics from the new Fall/Winter '09 ad campaign. I feel like she's channeling Madonna in some of these shots.

The Zoe Report

I've talked about my obsession with The Rachel Zoe Project a few times before. Her show is great! The clothes are amazing, the drama is exciting and even though I'm not totally on Zoe's page when she dresses herself (ie. dead animals thrown on her back), I do love the way she puts great pieces together for her celebrity clients. When I found out Zoe was creating a newsletter based on all this fashion, beauty and lifestyle, I knew I had to sign up. I hope you do too.

Michael Jackson: Style Icon

“Life ain’t so bad at all, if you live it off the wall”
Tribute to Michael Jackson’s style: 1958-2009
Yes Michael Jackson was a very odd individual, but his influence on the entertainment industry cannot go unnoticed. There were the black loafers, the spangled glove, the red jacket, the aviator sunglasses, the fedora, the epaulets, the tassels, the sparkles, and the jerry curl. Love him or hate him Michael Jackson was a style icon.

Never one to fit in, MJ has always set himself apart from every other musician out there, not just because of his obvious dancing and singing talent, but also because of his daring and unique style.

For those that look at Michael Jackson without prejudice will discover that Jackson has brought influential fashion pieces and design elements to each decade.

Jackson strutted into the pop scene in the 1970’s with his platform heels and wide bell bottom pants, a very low key style for what was to come decades later.

With the release of his album “Off the Wall” Jackson introduced a more polished look. With his tuxedo top, pegged pants, black loafers, and white socks (to show off his moon walk) MJ’s influence on fashion was just beginning.

Everyone’s favorite and most memorable fashion statements were when his album Thriller jumped up to the top of the charts with MJ sporting the infamous red leather jacket with zipped details, paired with parachute pants and a single white sequined glove to finish off the look that personified the 80’s. MJ also wore his hair in a jerry curled style and often sported mirrored aviators. If you take a walk down the street of any big city today you can find someone sporting at least one of these key pieces.

In the 90’s MJ is often remembered for his theatrical costumes, such as his military jackets. When off stage MJ still dressed to impress, he always presented himself polished, usually in a suit or classic style with his own military inspired touches.
Unfortunately in his last years Michael’s only fashion statements were made in the courtroom, where he never wore the same thing twice. I would rather not talk about that though, as I would like to remember Michael Jackson for the amazing artist he was and it’s a shame we never got to see what was coming next in fashion for his comeback tour.

So every time you see something that is MJ inspired in your closet, in stores, on a celebrity, or walking down the street, bow your head and tip your fedora to the King of Pop!

MJ’s style will not soon be forgotten!

RIP Michael Jackson

Good-Bye Stuff, Hello Femme

I have to say that I for one am pretty excited that Hilary Duff has decided to ditch her tweenie Stuff by Hilary Duff line and move on to something more sophisticated.

Hilary Duff has partnered with DKNY – a Liz Claiborne brand for her new fashion line Femme. The rocker chic meets soft feminine line is said to consist of unique and versatile pieces that will make a statement. Unexpected details were also added such as poppies, sequins and shine, mixing with tougher vinyl, menswear fabrics and motorcycle details. The line is said to hit stores in August, prices will range from $39 (tee) to $120 (Outerwear)

Here’s a peek at what the product will look like;

“A key theme is versatility: sweater tunics with removable cowl scarves, tees with detachable and printed necklaces, charmeuse cozies that layer like scarves, skinny jeans with adjustable belt loops for thin or wide belts. Black denim is the foundation, with vinyl leggings, tissue weight tees and strappy dresses rounding out the Fall assortment.” I think the fashion world can expect great things from Miss Duff, as she has come a long way form her Lizzie McGuire days. She will now be juggling singing, acting, and being involved in the Femme line every step of the way. I guess we know Hilary’s trick to staying out of trouble…perhaps other teen stars could take note?

Gossip Girl Fraud?

Yesterday we posted about Anna Sui's new Target collection that was inspired by Gossip Girl. However, late last night we received an email from NYLON magazine that told the real story of the capsule collection. The line isn't so much inspired by Gossip Girl as it is a cheaper version of Sui's previous collections. Most of the looks are reinterpretations by Sui's 2006 collection. The problem is Gossip Girl didn't hit the airwaves until 2007. So either Sui can see into the future or Sui and Target are using the popularity of Gossip Girl to sell some clothes. It seems a little shameless. Sui seems to be trying to make some money in this economy by just regurgitating her previous looks without having to create any new ideas. I wasn't really down with the collection yesterday and this new information just solidifies my first opinion.

Target Girl

Anna Sui has created a Gossip Girl inspired capsule collection for Target that will hit stores September 13 until October 17th.

I haven't watched Gossip Girl since the first season so I may be completely out of the loop and this stuff is actually something the characters would wear. However, I think not. Unless Eric Daman was thrown out on his ass and they decided to hire some stoned hippie as their wardrobe stylist, I'm going to assume the stylish girls from the Upper East Side would never be caught dead in these montrosities.
