Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have released the first shots of their Fall/Winter 2010 collection for their Elizabeth and James line. "The fall collection plays with texture and mixes comfort with fashion,” Mary-Kate told InStyle. The line features their staple of blazers and jackets, and loose and flowy menswear shirts dresses. The line plays with leather, as seen in the overalls, and rare ostrich feathers. The girls favourite piece of the collection? "The silk drapey pant is the new skinny pant—it’s comfortable, flattering and looks great paired with heels,” Mary-Kate says.

I was in Zara yesterday and saw these exact leather overalls. It was on the sale rack. Possible foreshadowing?

One of the trends spotted on the runways this season was tie dye. Not the old school 70's psychedelic throwback, but a much more modern and interesting tie dye. It was seen in Proenza Schouler's Spring/Summer 2010 collection (left) as well as Zac Posen's collection for Target (right). Do-it-yourself tie dye seemed like a right of passage for every kid growing up. You'd tie off plain white t-shirts and dip them into bowls with all different colours. It always came out looking like a bad acid trip. It was more for fun than for fashion. But Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, along with the help of Martha Stewart, are trying to turn DIY tie dye into something we can all wear. Check out this video of the design duo getting schooled by Martha in all things tie dye.
I will be heading to my local Michael's tomorrow to purchase that spray paint so I can get dying right away.
DIY Tie Dye...It's a good thing.
