RACHEL BILSON HEARTS SMYTHE

Rachel Bilson and her Canadian fiance, Hayden Christensen, have been in Vancouver during the Olympic Games. In honour of her soon to be Canadian citizenship, Bilson has been spotted wearing Smythe jackets all over the Olympic city. Rachel was seen leaving the Hudson Bay Company gifting suite wearing what is known as the "Bay blanket" jacket. Smythe has reinterpretted the classic Canadian coat and it was featured in a recent copy of FLARE magzine. Rachel was also seen wearing "The Smythe Black Swing Coat" while getting coffee with Hayden.

The HBC blanket jacket went out of style for a while, but I have a feeling it's back in a big way!

Fun Fact: I sold Hayden the hat he's wearing on Valentine's Day in Niagara on the Lake where he and Rachel had a romantic getaway. It's a Canadian hat by Tilley.

MCQUEEN'S FINAL COLLECTION

This is the final collection for Alexander McQueen's second label, McQ. The collection is inspired by Britains 80`s punk scene. It features bold colours such as red and yellow, lots of studs, and sleeveless shirts. One controversial element of the line is the haircut on the model. When coupled with the clothes, the model resembles a `skinhead`. However, McQueen was never one to waver from controversy.Source

SCORSESE + CHANEL

Chanel has hired Oscar winning director Martin Scorsese to direct a commercial for the labels next foray into men's fragrance. The ad will star French actor Gaspard Ulliel, who is the face of the fragrance.

“Chanel has a tradition several decades long of working with the most prominent movie directors in the world,” D’Avack said. “To work with Martin Scorsese, who is one of the best, if not the best movie director alive today, is a privilege Chanel has been seeking for quite some time."

This isn't the first time Chanel has teamed up with a Hollywood director. Baz Luhrmann directed Nicole Kidman and Jean-Pierre Jeaunet directed Audrey Tatou, both for CHanel No. 5 fragrance ads..

“In the case of Martin Scorsese, we knew we would definitely have a man’s world full of complexity that is also adrenaline-driven, and of course, amazing images.”

The ad will debut in September.

THE ROW MEN'S SPRING/SUMMER 2010 COLLECTION

The best part of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's The Row Spring/Summer 2010 collection is their choice of model. James Ransone is a really talented actor who starred in the critically acclaimed HBO show The Wire. He also played an obnoxious, smart ass yet loveable soldier in HBO's amazingly awesome mini series Generation Kill. If this is your first introduction to James "PJ" Ransone...well you're welcome.

Back to the clothes! Another interesting element of this collection is its normality. The Row is supposed to be the luxery line for MK and Ashley. Elizabeth and James is their more wearable collection. Yet in their first foray into menswear, the twins kept things simple with leather jackets, blazers, black slacks and plain tees. However, a 90's inspired vision can be seen in the wash and cut of the denim.

This collection had me at James Ransone.
