FOXY LV

Here's a look at Louis Vuitton's Fox Bag Charm in Rose. It also comes in Vert and Orange. To me it looks like a giant rabbit's foot. I wonder if it's supposed to bring you good luck as well? Anyways, you can pick it up at LouisVuitton.com.

LV FLIPS THE SCRIPT

Louis Vuitton has turned the camera on Anna Leibovitz. Usually the famed photographer is the one taking the pictures for Louis Vuitton's core values campaign, but this time Leibovitz is posing alongside Mikhail Baryshnikov. The ads will hit magazines on February 1st.

A Hairy Situation

Marc Jacobs never fails to think outside the box and his Spring/Summer collection for Louis Vuitton is no different.

Marc sent models out onto the runway in penny loafers, moccasins, and clogs. That's unusual in itself for Paris Fashion Week considering the models are usually strapped into 9 inch heels that are about as wide as a matchstick. His shoes were accessorized with pony tails (yes! pony tails!), tassels, feathers, fringe and some sort of door knocker-esque pieces.

Emmy Fashion - The Good

For me, Januray Jones was the best dressed of the night. Considering she's shoved into corsets and control top pantyhose every day this dress is a nice departure. It has a futuristic bodace, but an old school train. It's part Betty Draper, part Jane Jetson. It's modern, fun, and the lines cut her body very nicely. The dress is Atelier Versace.
The rest are in no particular order.
Olivia Wilde showed up in Marchesa which means only one thing. Harvey Weinstein now owns her.
This is actress Lindsay Price in J. Mendel. This may be a contoversial pick, but I always appreciate someone who wears a bold colour.
Kate Walsh showed up in a greyish-white J. Mendel dress with Louis Vuitton shoes, and an Aldo clutch!!! I totally appreciate a big star walking the red carpet in something they picked up at their local mall. Kate's keepin' it real.
Drew Barrymore went the whimsical route and opted for a Monique Lhuillier princess dress. She accessorized with Anna Hu jewels, Raven Kauffman's “Drew” clutch and Casadei shoes. We somehow think that Little Edie would have showed up in something a little more daring. Christina Hendricks looking sexy in a L’wren Scott dress, Fred Leighton jewels and Prada clutch and shoes. The dress shows off her curves, but the choice of a darker colour is also flattering. Joan Holloway would approve.

Kanye's LV Kicks

Kanye West's new sneakers he designed for Louis Vuitton hit stores tomorrow, July 1st (Canada Day!). The shoes come in 3 styles, The Mr. Hudson, The Jasper, and The Don, and will come in a wide array of colours. You should be warned that the kicks aren't cheap. They start at $700 and work their way up to $1140. There is no doubt that sneaker collectors will be lining up bright and early to get their hands on them.

Madonna Overdone

I wish fashion houses would go back to using actual models in their campaigns.

At this point I don't know if this is an ad for Louis Vuitton or an ad for Photoshop! I mean did Madonna even pose for these shots or is she purely computer generated?

One Giant Leap for Louis Vuitton

Back in April we told you that Buzz Aldrin would be the face of Louis Vuitton's Core Values campaign.

The French fashion house is honouring the 40th anniversary of the moon landing. Joining Buzz Aldrin (second man to walk on the moon's surface) is Jim Lovell (commander of the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission in 1970) and Sally Ride (the first American woman to venture into space).

The ads were shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz in the Californian desert.

The three astronauts are seen quietly gazing at the sky from their battered pick-up truck, each reliving a moment that very few people have ever done. Joining them on their trip is Louis Vuitton’s Icare travel bag in Monogram canvas. The tagline for the campain is taken from Neil Armstrong’s famous words from1969: “Some journeys change mankind forever”.

In conjunction with the ads LV has launched the Louis Vuitton Journey`s website where the stars of the ad talk about the event that changed their lives forever. The website will also feature multimedia downloads and "the making of" featurette.

On behalf of the astronauts, Louis Vuitton is making donations to Al Gore`s The Climate Project.

The ads will start running in all major publications in July '09.

One Small Step for Man...

Louis Vuitton has added one of the most famous trivia answers to its new advertising campaign.

Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon's surface, will be shooting the new LV ad campaign with famed photographer Annie Leibovitz and fellow astronauts Jim Lovell and Sally Ride. The 79 year old astronaut will pose for the photoshoot sometime this week and the campaign takes place in an unknown U.S. desert.

This has got to be one of the most unusual/AMAZING! ad campaigns in recent years. LV is certainly stepping outside the box and is choosing to work with unconventional people to help sell their brand...and we totally love it!!!
