This fall, Mod is back! If you picked up a copy of our latest issue of FABRIC Magazine, you'll see that we did a feature on men's double breasted suit jackets, commenting on how the recent movement from the single breasted power suit towards the distinct double breast signifies a conscious move towards Mod revival. We are also seeing this shift in women's fashion and beauty this season, with make up and wardrobe influences taken from the likes of legenadry supermodel, Twiggy. This fall, black is in like never before, and the silhouette is kept simple with A-line coats, structured and textured bags, slim tights and knee-high boots, and shades of grey, cream, and patriotical pops of red and electric blue here and there. Try for a true Mod look with intense smoky eyes - heavy on the liner, of course - and pale, nude, glossy lips. If you're not a Plain Jane, go for stripes in black and white, white-rimmed shades, and step into some patent boots or pumps to take it a step up.
For the lads, again stick to black and white, with Chelsea boots to compliment your threads. We love plaid (of course!) and red and black is the way we see it. As an alternative to stovepipe dressy trousers, bring it to the daylight with skinny leg dark wash jeans - we love Cheap Mondays for their stretch and comfort. Keep your hair simple or slicked back, and accessorize with a sleek leather satchel or messenger bag - a true shoutout to the yesteryear of the United Kingdom.
